Ardelle pays a visit to the Thorofare

As the season winds down for the schooner trade with only two Maine windjammers sailing, it’s particularly fun to see the pinky schooner, Ardelle in Penobscot Bay. Ardelle’s day charters finished in Gloucester, MA, boatbuilder Harold Burnham and his wife appear to be enjoying the fall foliage and anchorages of midcoast Maine.  We spotted her this morning as she flew by under shortened canvas. We exchanged greetings, Harold from the deck and me from the porch.
