A perfect launch spot
This is a picture of Spicer’s Marina located on West Cove Harbor in Noank, Conn. It’s a perfect spot to launch a trip to Block Island or any of the New York harbors [such as those on nearby Fishers Island, or on Long Island] and is easy access to Long Island Sound. My favorite place to be to enjoy a sunset cocktail aboard our 30-foot Nonsuch. It is also home to the friendly West Cove Yacht Club.

Liked it so much he moved
The May 2023 Mystery Harbor is Spicer’s Marina, West Cove, Noank, Conn. I recognized it because I’ve had a boat there since the early ’90s. My previous home port was Essex, Conn., but my 36’ Jeanneau needed major fiberglass repair, and the repair service at Spicer’s was highly recommended. I moved the boat there for the repair, and never left – changing to a J/80 after a couple of years, and now a 22-ft Scout powerboat. I quickly discovered the advantage of driving farther east to get to Spicer’s versus being based in Essex. No one-hour trip down a river to get to open water, and multiple interesting destinations within an hour or so of Noank, including Stonington, Block Island and Shelter Island, as just a few examples. I liked the convenience so much that I moved to Noank!
