Sperry Sails stitchers making masks

The stitchers at Sperry Sails in Marion, Mass., have launched a mask-making initiative with the goal of creating 1,000 masks in the next week and 10,000 by the end of May, according to an email from Ben Sperry:

“In an effort to help combat the COVID19 virus we are making and distributing masks to essential local businesses at no charge. Many employees now considered essential did not sign up for such a potentially dangerous job, and we are hopeful that our face masks may help in our fight against this virus.

Our goal is to produce 1,000 masks in seven days and produce as many as 10,000 by the end of May.

Please help us succeed in this ambitious goal!

Disclaimer: We are not a certified PPE manufacturer and we do not have a sterile environment to produce these masks. They should be cleaned prior to use, and may not protect you from the COVID19 virus.

We are humbly asking for donations large or small to help keep our mask making operation viable.

If you would like to donate, please send a check by mail to Sperry Sails, 11 Marconi Lane, Marion, MA 02738, or pay with paypal by clicking donate now.”
