Dick was a resident of Coffey Park in Santa Rosa, Calif., passed away, surrounded by family, at California Pacific Medical Center on July 15.
He was deeply involved in dog showing, obedience training and rescue. He was also an avid saltwater fisherman and the author of numerous articles for “The Fisherman.”
Having earned his bachelor’s degree at Providence (R.I.) College, Mr. Fox served three years in the Army. He then earned an M.S. degree, graduating with honors, from The American University in Washington, D.C., while simultaneously working for the government in information technology.
In his approximately half-century-long career, Mr. Fox served as a software developer, data center manager, systems & business analyst and educator. He was credentialed as a Certified Project Manager (CPM) and Certified Business Analyst (CBA), and he served as chairman of the Certification Development Committee of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA). He consulted for MITRE Corporation, NationsBank, Boston Medical Center, Aetna Insurance, Lotus, Microsoft, the Defense Department, Atlantic Mutual Insurance, Citibank and Fannie Mae.
Mr. Fox developed and taught undergraduate and graduate courses for Goldey Beacom College, Weidner University, Rhode Island College, Bryant College, Providence College, Boston University and Johnson & Wales University. One of his greatest joys, said his wife, was to see one of his students finally understand a concept he or she had been struggling with.
Mr. Fox left behind his wife of 53 years Lucinda L. “Cindy” (Marchetti) Fox; son Kenneth R. Fox; sister Catherine dos Reis; sister-in-law Barbara Vertefeuille; Aunt Dorothy Perry; as well as brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and countless friends.
