More lobster boats bringing their gear ashore early for the season. Fewer recreational boats passing by and often with shortened sail with the strong fall winds.
The Sparkman & Stephens 38 foot Loki class yawl, FOFER was spotted again sailing jib and jigger, as she was on October 17, 2016. This time only one crew member was visible as she tacked and took a line inside the buoyed channel passing the North Haven anchorage. Within minutes, schooner Stephen Taber came charging past with the wind behind her. The fifth schooner to pass by in the last few days, taking advantage of fall sailing.
