Midwinter: Greenwich Harbor

If you can correctly identify this harbor, you’ll be on your way to winning a fine Points East designer cap. To qualify, identify the harbor AND tell us something about the harbor, such as how you recognized it and some reasons you like to hang out there. We’ll pick a winner from the most informative and interesting correct reply we receive and print the answers in the next issue of Points East and also post them here.

It’s a prime spot for schoolie bass – and celebrity sightings

Steve Alden, of Old Lyme, Conn., is the winner of the Midwinter Mystery Harbor contest. He submitted the only correct answer, writing, “It’s Greenwich Harbor. I used to fish for schoolie bass in front of Trump’s house, which was just to the right of the yacht club.” Our monthly fishing columnist Richard DeMarte submitted the photo, with fishing rods actively fishing in the foreground, and he often mentions the waters outside Greenwich Harbor as a prime fishing spot. A bit of online research confirms that President Trump did once own a mansion on Greenwich Harbor, between 1984 and 1998.
