Bob died May 26. His great passion was sailboat racing. He owned a number of boats, all named Banshee. He was a life member of the Barrington Yacht Club, serving as its Commodore in 1987 and 1988. He was honored with the Isaac B. Merriman Award for his sportsmanship and yachting skills. He also completed 11 Newport-to-Bermuda races, and was an avid racer in the Narragansett Bay Yachting Association, Twenty Hundred Club and the Off Soundings series. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and served in both World War II and the Korean War.
