I was on my boat headed East through Woods Hole when I saw a large “yacht” a bit bow down off Nobska Light heading into Vineyard Sound. I mentioned it to my wife, Gretchen, and daughter, Ellen, who agreed something was not right. We watched closely as the yacht was accompanied by Tow Boat and Sea Tow craft with pumps going full tilt, and brought back inside Nobska Point to beach it. The boat, named Cocktails out of Miami, hit a ledge in Woods Hole passage, and kept going until the charter captain noticed the ship was imitating a submarine. Fortunately, Sea Tow and Tow Boat had rescue boats in the area, and they kept her afloat till landing on Nobska Beach. Cocktails was finally towed back to Fairhaven Marine where she was patched up.
