This sailboat came ashore on Crane Beach in Ipswich, Mass., during Memorial Day weekend and has remained there for more than a week now. The channel at the entrance to the Ipswich River which runs between Crane Beach and Plum Island is very shallow. I didn’t witness the beaching of this boat but it was quite windy last week and I’ve been told that the sailors got caught in the surf.
